We must begin to take full responsibility. Take responsibility for unanswered prayer. Take responsibility when healing doesn’t manifest. Take responsibility for powerlessness. Take responsibility for lives that don’t change when we teach and preach. Take responsibility for the state of our families, cities, and nations. Take it upon ourselves through the power of God and the promises of God to set up this heavenly Kingdom of light that destroys darkness, heals the sick, raises the dead, casts out demons, and tears down the unholy alliances made between demon-gods and man.
We are the active forces of the kingdom of Heaven and we must engage the earth with truth in power. We must release the kingdom in all its power and potential through the people of God. It’s fullness is inevitable, but we must seek to possess its fullness at all cost, win or lose, live or die, we must lay our lives down that Christ may emerge from within us as the victorious King, subduing all things, and bringing all things under subjection to Himself.
To take responsibility for the gospel is to take responsibility to see that the goal of the gospel is fully carried out. Responsibility means that we take responsibility for crossing the finish line. To see it through to the end.
Preaching a partial gospel will no longer be adequate. Preaching that “Jesus saves” will not be the gospel that subjugates all of hell under the feet of Jesus. The gospel that needs to emerge is the gospel of the kingdom which is led by King Jesus. Paul went around preaching the Lordship of Christ. His message was backed up by extraordinary miracles, signs, and wonders. But this was because he was not just preaching the lordship of Christ, but living it. And here is the rub. American Christianity cannot submit to Jesus. If Christians will not submit, then neither will hell. This is why a new day is emerging. It’s because a new kind of people are emerging. These people are disciples of King Jesus and they demonstrate the authority and life of Jesus in power and word. Hell will bow to those who are bowed.
